Get to Know me!

I LOVE everything about photography…the energy, the fun, the romance, the emotion, the fashion aspect and elegance…..sized_My Mug Shot

I am doing what I love and it cannot get any better than that. When I’m shooting incredible people in amazing locations the rest of the world just melts away. I become wrapped up in the moment and my creative flow.

I’m married to the most amazing man. We live together in a small  home just outside of Belfield, North Dakota. Our home feels like it’s in a constant state of remodel. Some parts of the house are shinny and new while others are falling apart. We have 4 children ranging in ages from 21 to 6!  I’m one of those crazy cat ladies, (much to my husbands dismay!) My favorite color is green. I love good food with a lot of flavor ( but you can win me over with a good ol’ slice of pizza!). My favorite music is a mix of techno, alternative, and pop. I am a self proclaimed techno-geek, if there is a new gadget I have to know all about it. I love to travel but I hate to fly. I’m terrified of wasps and grasshoppers! I make lots of “To Do” lists and I’m overly organized. I love to laugh and I am easily amused. I love adventures, no matter how big or small.  I love my job, my life, and my future.

A lot of people ask me how I got into photography. The truth is it is all my Father’s fault!  My fondest memories are of sitting next to my Father pouring over old photographs at our kitchen table.  I found it amazing to be able to share in the joy and excitement that was captured.

People often ask if I went to school. The answer is YES!  But not for photography, I have a Bachelors Degree in Business; and for 4 years devoured fine art and photography classes to hone my photographic knowledge.  I believe in continued education, and  I am constantly learning new things about photography and teaching myself new things every day.

When I opened Western Image Photography & Design, I wanted it to be a visionary studio featuring Innovative photography. A studio with more modern, elegant and urban style photography with an edgy undertone. Today…….I feel I have accomplished my goal of showcasing portraits in a more artistic and contemporary way.

Photography has come so far since I began in this industry, but one thing that remains true is how valuable your photographs are….don’t entrust just anyone to document these events that can never be recreated…..it’s simply too important.”
